Nine Hormones, One Panel

Each hormone controls a different body system. Measuring them together reveals patterns that a single test misses.

⚖️

Pituitary Hormones

LH (luteinising hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) regulate ovulation in women and sperm/testosterone production in men. Elevated FSH in women often signals diminished ovarian reserve; in men it suggests testicular failure.

  • LH surge triggers ovulation
  • FSH drives follicle development
  • LH:FSH ratio evaluated in PCOS
  • Male hypogonadism classification
🌡️

Sex & Thyroid Hormones

Estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone govern reproductive health, mood, bone density, and libido. TSH and free T4 reveal thyroid status — thyroid dysfunction frequently mimics or worsens hormonal disorders.

  • Estradiol: ovarian function & cycle phase
  • Progesterone: confirms ovulation (day 21)
  • Testosterone: libido, muscle, fertility
  • TSH + free T4: full thyroid picture
🧠

Prolactin & Cortisol

Prolactin at high levels suppresses ovulation and causes irregular periods or milk production outside pregnancy. Cortisol (the morning stress hormone) when chronically elevated disrupts every other hormone axis and drives fatigue, weight gain, and insomnia.

  • Prolactin screens for pituitary adenoma
  • Prolactin elevated by stress, medication
  • Cortisol: adrenal function & HPA axis
  • Low cortisol → Addison's disease risk

Who Should Get This Panel?

👩
Irregular or absent periods Oligomenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, or cycle lengths outside 21–35 days warrant a full panel to identify the cause.
🤰
Difficulty conceiving After 6 months of trying (35+ years) or 12 months (under 35), a hormonal profile guides the next step for both partners.
Fatigue, weight gain, hair loss These overlap with thyroid disease, adrenal insufficiency, low testosterone, and estrogen imbalance — the panel differentiates them.
💊
Before fertility treatment IUI, IVF, or clomiphene therapy all require baseline hormonal mapping. This panel provides it in a single appointment.
👨
Men: low libido, ED, infertility Testosterone alone is insufficient. LH, FSH, and prolactin reveal whether the problem is testicular, pituitary, or drug-related.
Normal Reference Ranges
LH Women (follicular): 1.9–12.5 IU/L  |  Men: 1.7–8.6 IU/L
FSH Women (follicular): 3.5–12.5 IU/L  |  Men: 1.5–12.4 IU/L
Estradiol Follicular: 77–921 pmol/L  |  Post-menopause: <110 pmol/L
Progesterone (Day 21) Confirms ovulation if >30 nmol/L; inadequate luteal phase if <16 nmol/L
TSH / Free T4 TSH 0.4–4.0 mIU/L  |  Free T4 9–24 pmol/L
Cortisol (8–10 AM) Normal 140–690 nmol/L  |  Low <140 needs further evaluation

How to Prepare for Best Results

1

Timing & Fasting

Come in the morning (8–10 AM) after an 8-hour overnight fast. Cortisol peaks at this time; sex hormones are also more stable in the morning. For women, note your cycle day — day 2–5 for basal hormones, or day 21 for progesterone confirmation.

2

Medications & Supplements

Tell us about oral contraceptive pills (suppress LH/FSH), hormone therapy, antipsychotics (raise prolactin), steroids, and biotin supplements (>5 mg/day interferes with immunoassays). Do not stop medications without doctor advice.

3

Stress & Rest

Avoid intense exercise and major stressors the evening before — both acutely raise cortisol and prolactin, which can skew results. Arrive 15 minutes early and rest seated before your sample is taken. Same-day results available.

Precision Science, Compassionate Care

🔬
Calibrated immunoassay analysers

Our automated platforms use chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) technology — the same method used in teaching hospitals — for all nine hormones.

📋
Clinician-annotated reports

Results include reference ranges adjusted for sex, age, and cycle day — not generic population norms. Abnormal flags are highlighted for easy clinical review.

🔒
Absolute confidentiality

Hormonal results are handled with the same discretion as STI results. Your report is shared only with you or your named clinician.

"I'd been told my hormones were 'fine' after a TSH-only test. Mascot ran the full panel and found my FSH was elevated and my estradiol low. That finally explained two years of irregular cycles."
