Four Targeted Hormonal Profiles

Rather than running every hormone for every patient, we use targeted panels — the right tests for the right clinical question. This gives faster answers, better clinical correlation, and lower cost for each patient.

♀️
Female Basic — PCOS Screen (₦30,000)
LH + FSH + Prolactin. Screens for PCOS (elevated LH:FSH ratio, normal or elevated prolactin), hyperprolactinemia, and ovulation disorders. Ideal first-line test for irregular periods and difficulty conceiving.
🌸
Hormonal Acne Screen (₦40,000)
LH + Prolactin + TSH + Testosterone. Persistent acne, hirsutism, oily skin, or hair thinning — these androgens and thyroid markers identify hormonal drivers that dermatologists need addressed before topical treatments work.
♂️
Male Hormonal Profile (₦32,000)
LH + FSH + Testosterone + Prolactin. Assesses the pituitary-gonadal axis for low libido, erectile dysfunction, reduced muscle mass, infertility, or suspected andropause. Guides referral to endocrinology or andrology.
When to Test

Five Signs You Need Hormonal Testing

01
Irregular, Absent, or Painful Periods
Menstrual irregularity is almost always hormonal. LH, FSH, and prolactin identify the specific driver — PCOS, hyperprolactinemia, thyroid dysfunction, or premature ovarian insufficiency.
02
Persistent Acne or Hair Loss
Adult acne that doesn't respond to skincare is usually androgenic. Elevated testosterone or LH, combined with prolactin and TSH, gives dermatologists and gynaecologists the data to prescribe targeted treatment.
03
Infertility Investigation
After 6–12 months without conception, the female basic panel is the starting point. Elevated LH:FSH ratio suggests PCOS. Elevated prolactin prevents ovulation. Both are correctable.
04
Low Libido, ED, or Reduced Muscle Mass
The male hormonal profile assesses whether testosterone, LH, FSH, and prolactin are in the normal range — distinguishing primary testicular failure from pituitary causes and guiding appropriate intervention.
05
Galactorrhoea (Breast Milk Without Pregnancy)
Spontaneous breast milk production in non-pregnant women — or in men — signals hyperprolactinemia, often from a pituitary adenoma. Prolactin testing confirms this and guides brain MRI decisions.
Key Hormone Reference Ranges
LH (follicular)
2–15 IU/L
FSH (follicular)
2–10 IU/L
Prolactin (female)
2–29 ng/mL
Testosterone (male)
300–1000 ng/dL

⚕️ Hormone levels must be interpreted in the context of cycle day, symptoms, and clinical picture. We guide you on optimal timing for your specific panel.

Preparation

How to Prepare for Hormonal Testing

Timing and preparation profoundly affect hormone results — follow these steps for clinically meaningful data.

📅
Female: Day 2–4 for Baseline
LH, FSH, prolactin, and estradiol baselines are measured on days 2–4 of your menstrual cycle (with Day 1 being the first day of full flow). Progesterone is measured on day 21. Tell us your last period date when booking.
💊
Stop Biotin 48 Hours Before
High-dose biotin (Vitamin B7, common in hair/nail supplements) interferes with immunoassay-based hormone tests, causing falsely low TSH and elevated thyroid hormones. Stop 48 hours before testing.

"I had acne for years and nothing worked. Mascot Healthcare did the hormonal acne screen — my LH and testosterone were elevated. My gynaecologist put me on treatment and within 4 months my skin was completely clear. Should have done this years ago."
