Ultrasound Scans: How to Prepare

If your doctor orders an ultrasound during your first visit, here’s what you should know:

Abdominal / Pelvic / Pregnancy: Come with a full bladder – drink 4–5 glasses of water 1 hour before scan and don’t urinate.
Fasting required: For abdominal (liver, gallbladder) fast for 6 hours. Water allowed.
Breast/Thyroid/Scrotal: No special preparation. Wear comfortable two-piece clothing.
Results: You’ll receive printed report immediately after scan. Doctor will explain findings same day.
Ultrasound is radiation-free and safe during pregnancy.

Quick Answers for First-Timers

How long does the first visit take?

Typically 10–40 minutes including registration, consultation, and any immediate tests. Ultrasound adds 10–30 min.

Can I bring a family member along?

Yes, family members can be seen together or individually. Family registration card covers all under one roof.

What if I need specialist care?

We do not have specialists on site — every patient is seen by one of our general practitioners, who manage most conditions (including everyday gynaecology, urology and skin problems) directly. If your case needs specialist-level care, we refer you to a trusted partner and guide you through it.
