The short answer
Yes — most routine tests can be booked directly. You do not need a referral letter for a full blood count, malaria test, blood sugar, genotype, or an STI screen. You book, you come, you get the result.
Which ones need a consultation first
A small number are better ordered after being examined, because the result is only meaningful alongside a history. Hormone panels timed to your cycle, and tests where the right panel depends on your symptoms, fall into this group.
Why some people still prefer a consultation
A test answers the question you asked. If the question is wrong, the answer is not useful — which is the commonest reason people end up testing three times for something a single consultation would have directed properly.
What happens with your result
You receive it, and a doctor reviews anything abnormal. If it needs action, we tell you what and how soon. If it does not, we tell you that too.
Common questions
Do I need to fast?
Only for specific tests — fasting blood sugar, lipid profile and some others. We tell you when you book.
Can I book for someone else?
Yes, but they must attend themselves and consent to the test.
Can I get a test for an employer or visa?
Yes — pre-employment and food handler screening are available.
Will you explain the result?
Yes. An abnormal result is reviewed by a doctor and explained.
