What a Lipid Profile Tests and Why It Matters
A fasting lipid profile measures: Total cholesterol; LDL cholesterol ('bad', the primary atherogenic particle); HDL cholesterol ('good', protective); Triglycerides; and the Total:HDL ratio (the most important cardiovascular risk indicator).
