What Causes Frequent Urination?
Frequent urination (polyuria or urinary frequency) is different from normal, most adults urinate 6–8 times per day. More than that, or waking more than once at night, warrants investigation.
High blood sugar causes glucose to spill into the urine, pulling water with it, causing frequent, large-volume urination, often with excessive thirst. A fasting blood sugar and HbA1c diagnose it.
