Ramadan Kareem from all of us at Mascot Healthcare Clinic.
After long hours of fasting, how you break your fast matters for your energy, digestion, and overall health.
Healthy & Safe Foods to Break Your Fast
• Water – Rehydrate first (avoid very cold drinks)
• Dates (1–3 pieces) – Quick natural energy and gentle on the stomach
• Fruits – Watermelon, pawpaw, orange, or banana for vitamins and hydration
• Light soup or pap (akamu) – Helps the stomach adjust before heavy meals
• Protein – Eggs, fish, beans, or yogurt to maintain strength
Avoid at Iftar
• Very oily or fried foods
• Sugary drinks and sodas
• Overeating immediately after breaking fast
Health Tip:
Eat slowly and wait 10–15 minutes before your main meal to prevent bloating, indigestion, and fatigue.
Wishing you a healthy, peaceful, and blessed Ramadan.
