What Causes Cervical Cancer?<\/h2>\n\n\n

Almost all cervical cancers are caused by long-lasting infection with high-risk types of HPV \u2014 especially HPV 16 and 18, which are responsible for about 70% of cases. The virus is extremely common; what matters is whether an infection persists and quietly changes cervical cells over many years.<\/p>\n\n\n

Why So Many Cases Are Found Late<\/h2>\n\n\n
